Training Bursaries

The training bursaries available for 2021/22 are listed below.  The amount of bursary you will be eligible for depends on the subject you want to teach and in some circumstances may depend on your degree class.  The training bursaries are tax-free and we will apply for it on your behalf.  We pay you the bursary out in ten equal instalments, starting in October 2021 and finishing in July 2022.

Trainees in chemistry, computing, maths and physics are able to apply for a teacher training scholarship with the appropriate professional body. Scholarships are awarded in place of a bursary. Each of the professional scholarship bodies sets its own eligibility criteria – click here to find out more.
