At George Abbot SCITT our vision is to recruit and train the outstanding teachers of the future.

We are aware that the current ‘cost of living crisis’ could mean that excellent potential teachers are prevented from entering the profession because of their financial status. We believe that we have a moral duty to ensure a high-quality supply of teachers for schools and their pupils at this challenging time.

Our tuition fee, QTS only programme, is competitively priced at only £8,250 to enable you to invest in your teaching career with no compromise on quality.

Our tuition fee, PGCE (with QTS) programme is priced at £9250 and allows you to deepen your understanding of educational research at a Masters level in partnership with Kingston University.

Training Bursaries 2024 – 25

The amount of bursary you will be eligible for depends on the subject you want to teach.  The training bursaries are tax-free.  We apply for it on your behalf.  The bursary is paid out in ten equal instalments, starting in October and finishing in July.

Trainees in chemistry, computing, maths and physics can apply for a teacher training scholarship with the appropriate professional body. These scholarships are awarded in place of a bursary. Each of the professional scholarship bodies sets its own eligibility criteria – click here to find out more.
