The amount of bursary you will be eligible for depends on the subject you want to teach. The training bursaries are tax-free. We apply for it on your behalf. The bursary is paid out in ten equal instalments, starting in October and finishing in July.
Trainees in chemistry, computing, maths and physics can apply for a teacher training scholarship with the appropriate professional body. These scholarships are awarded in place of a bursary. Each of the professional scholarship bodies sets its own eligibility criteria – click here to find out more.
